– COOKIES POLICY –
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small strings of text that the sites visited by the user send to their terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored to be transmitted to the same sites on the next visit of the same user. While browsing a site, the user can also receive cookies on their terminal that are sent from different websites or web servers (c.d. “third-party cookies”), on which some elements may reside (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) on the site that they are visiting. Cookies, usually present in users’ browsers in very large numbers and sometimes even with features of wide temporal persistence, are used for different purposes: execution of computer authentication, monitoring of sessions, storing information on specific configurations concerning users accessing the server, etc.
What are the main types of Cookies?
The provision of 08 May 2014 of the Data Protection Authority has distinguished two macro-categories: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service”. They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing you, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate yourself to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
According to current legislation for the installation of such cookies, prior consent of users is not required.
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user in the context of web browsing. Due to the particular invasiveness that such devices may have within the privacy of users, European and Italian legislations state that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus be able to express their valid consent.
Session and Persistent Cookies
Session Cookies contain the information that is used during your current browser session. These cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. Nothing is stored in your computer beyond the time of use of the site.
Persistent Cookies are used to maintain the information that is used in the period between accesses to the website, or used for technical purposes and to improve navigation on the site. This data allows websites to recognise you as a user or known visitor and will adapt accordingly. “Persistent” cookies have a duration that is set by the website and that can vary from a few minutes to several years.
Cookies of the Data Controller and third parties
Please note that it is necessary to take into account the different subjects that install cookies on the user’s terminal, depending on whether it is the operator of the site that the user is visiting (which can be summarized as “publisher” or “Owner”) or a different site that installs cookies through the owner (c.d. “third parties”).
So, there will be:
Data Controller Cookies, created and readable by the site that created them.
Third-party cookies, which are created and readable by domains external to the site and whose data is stored by the third party.
In order to operate such data collection, our partner may need to place a cookie (a short text file) on your computer. For more information about this type of service based on users’ tastes, resulting from third-party cookies, you can visit third-party sites at the links below.
What cookies this website uses, what are their main features and how to refuse consent to each of the cookies
This website may send the user the cookies briefly described below, for the purposes specified below.
Technical Cookies of the Data Controller
They are needed in order to make the CMS platform function. They do not collect private, personal or other data and are intended for a “session”, meaning they are automatically deleted when you close the window. There are two more persistent cookies which last a year. Both serve to remember the language and the size of the text, but even in this case they do not store any private data of the user.
Main third-party Cookies
Google Analytics, we specify that the anonymization of the IP address is active by default. This means that we cannot trace your private data, but they are used only for statistical data about accesses to the site.
