A new digital path to university orientation

As part of the national POT (Orientation and Tutoring Plan) project, there was a clear need for a digital tool to guide students in choosing their academic future.

The goal was to offer a customizable, accessible platform for universities to promote courses, events, and learning areas—using a format that speaks to students: mobile-first and interactive.

Oimmei was selected for the mobile app development of a user‑friendly, modular and dynamic solution for orientation and engagement.

Mobile app development and integrated CMS

“Orientami” is a mobile app available for iOS, Android and Huawei devices, designed to support students with a clean, intuitive interface and powerful backend.

Activity Feed:
The core section of the app displays events and news published by each university. Students can filter by category and access detailed views of each initiative.

Custom filters and push notifications:
Users can choose which types of content they want to see and receive alerts for, helping them stay up to date with personalized notifications.

Quizzes and surveys:
The app integrates educational games and self-assessment tools including TOLC-SU simulations, language and literary skills quizzes, and orientation surveys.

Info section:
Includes app usage instructions, project information, and university contact details.

Content management system (CMS):
Built on WordPress, each institution can independently manage and update the content shown within the app.

Cross-device compatibility:
Responsive and mobile-friendly design ensures full functionality across smartphones, tablets and web platforms.

The mobile app development process followed an agile and user-centered methodology, combining flexibility and scalability to fit a diverse student audience.
