Applications for local public transport

B On Time is one of the applications for mobility in the local public transport sector that we have created. The App is used to consult local public transport timetables in the Province of Livorno (Livorno, Piombino, Cecina, Rosignano, Portoferraio, Elba, Capraia, Val di Cornia), but can be extended to any Italian location.
The application is powered with GTFS data, and it’s multi-company and multimodal (public transport on road, rail and ship). The application allows you to consult both scheduled and real-time operating times (it is possible to interface with data in GTFS Real Time format or using the vehicle monitoring application SVT).

Travel planner and digital ticket purchase

Through the website and iOS and Android applications, users can access a number of useful features. It is possible to view public transport timetables, in order to better plan your journeys. Additionally, BonTime offers an internal Travel Planner that allows you to plan routes and find the optimized route to reach your desired destination within these zones. This complete service simplifies users’ lives, making it easier and more convenient to use public transport for their travels, and includes the purchase of digital tickets.
The application also offers the convenience of saving your favorite stops or addresses, thus making route planning easier and quicker. This function allows users to quickly access information about their frequently visited or favorite places, ensuring a greater usability for the service.
 

 

 

Functionalities

SCHEDULED TIMETABLE: Consult the timetables at individual stops as scheduled.
REAL TIME: Receive information on the next trips in real time at the individual stop directly on the App.
NETWORK MAP: View the list of lines and the detail of each individual public transport line.
TRAVEL PLANNER: Plan trips through the integrated from/to travel planner function.
STOPS: Search and display the nearest stops.
RETAILERS: Search and display the nearest retailers.
TICKETS: Purchase of travel tickets for all routes supported by the platform via integrated text message system and digital purchase, where permitted.
NOTICES: Consult notices from local public transport managers.

Other applications for local public transport

Ticket Manager

Account based purchasing and validation system. Travel tickets can be viewed and purchased both by consulting lists of tickets divided according to the services to which they refer and by using the multi-company and multi-modal fare calculator based on the GTFS (General Transport Feed Specification https://gtfs.org/) standard specifications.
Validation does not require on-board equipment. The traceability and verification of all steps related to the purchase and validation of the travel document is guaranteed.

GTFS Editor

Cloud application (accessible on the Internet) for the digitization of public transport service timetables in the standard GTFS (General Transport Feed Specification) format.
Using our application it will be possible to publish timetables on the main information channels (Google Maps, Moovit, Transit and our B On Time infomobility app).
The application also has other functions that allow the calculation of the mileage in a given period of time (which takes into account the Operation Plan valid at each moment), the publication of timetables and a reporting section for the analysis of services (analysis by line, by trip, by single route…)

School Bus App

The application is configured as a tool aimed at the safety of children to monitor their daily journey from home to school with the school bus service, using GPS and Bluetooth technology.
The application is aimed both at parents, who can easily control their child’s journey directly from their smartphone, but also at foster bodies and managers with an administration and management back office.

SVT Simple Vehicle Tracker

Fleet tracking software. The application allows both to feed external infomobility systems that use the GTFS Real Time format and to verify and consult, in the specific reporting section, the route taken by the individual vehicles and the time of passage. It is a valid tool both for informing citizens and for verifying any complaints regarding poor services. To work, it only requires an Android mobile device with a data connection as hardware.
